Turkistan region’s economic growth reaches 113%

Foreign direct investment in the Turkistan region has reached nearly $1.5 billion. Last year, 58 investment projects worth 340 billion tenge were implemented. Governor Nuralkhan Kusherov briefed President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev on the region’s development and prospects. The region’s economic growth exceeded 113%. Industrial zones are also showing steady development – there are 21 in the region, and 26 projects worth 315 billion tenge are currently underway in the Turan Special Economic Zone. Cotton-textile, corn, and meat clusters are being developed in the region. Once fully operational by 2027, agricultural production is expected to increase by 480 billion tenge. The Head of State instructed that efforts to attract investment and further develop agriculture and industry should continue.
