During
a meeting with Gilbert Houngbo, Director-General of the International Labor
Organization (ILO), President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev stated that the visit of
the distinguished guest gave a significant boost to cooperation between
Kazakhstan and the ILO. The Head of State highlighted the organization’s role
in promoting social justice principles on a global scale, noting its alignment
with the «Just Kazakhstan» concept implemented in the country. Overall, Kazakhstan
has ratified 25 key ILO conventions, with plans to continue this work,
according to Tokayev. In turn, Houngbo praised the country’s ongoing extensive
reforms and underscored its leading role in the region in advancing the ILO’s goals
and objectives.
