Western nations must welcome and support the current transition period in Kazakhstan, economist and political scientist Vladislav Inozemtcev wrote on the pages of the British online newspaper ‘The Independent’.
“Today Kazakhstan is facing major economic and political reforms that always take place after large-scale social unrest. As a scientist who has spent many years studying development economics, I would say that Kazakhstan’s path reminds me of the “classic” experience of East Asia. In particular, modernization in South Korea, Taiwan, Indonesia, and, of course, China. I believe that the Western world needs an ally in the region that borders both Russia and China. Western countries should not miss the historic chance to solidify in Kazakhstan, since it is the most dynamic and geopolitically important part of the post-Soviet space,” said political scientist Vladislav Inozemtcev.
