Kazakhstan, Japan discuss strategic partnership prospects

Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Japanese Foreign Minister Takeshi Iwaya discussed prospects for developing an expanded strategic partnership in trade and economic, transit and transport, and cultural and humanitarian spheres, as well as cooperation within international organizations. Tokayev emphasized that the Japanese foreign minister’s visit to Astana would give new impetus to strengthening bilateral ties.

«Japan is our reliable and close partner in Asia. We attach great importance to deepening comprehensive cooperation with Tokyo. Please convey my warm regards to Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba. We are looking forward to and preparing for his official visit to Kazakhstan. It is safe to say that our relations are developing dynamically,» Tokayev said.

«Kazakhstan and Japan are strategic partners interested in strengthening the international order. I believe my visit will pave the way for the further development of bilateral relations,» Iwaya said.
