President Tokayev holds meetings with Thai and Cambodian Prime Ministers

Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev discussed prospects for expanding bilateral cooperation with Thailand’s Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul. The meeting was held on the sidelines of the World Artificial Intelligence Conference (WAIC) in Shanghai. The Head of State highlighted the significant potential for trade and economic cooperation, describing Thailand as one of Kazakhstan's key partners in Southeast Asia. In the first four months of this year, trade turnover between the two countries grew by 76%, exceeding $110 million. Further growth in trade volumes could be supported by increasing exports of Kazakh agricultural products. The two sides also expressed interest in developing cooperation in digitalization and tourism. President Tokayev invited the Thai Prime Minister to pay an official visit to Kazakhstan.

The President of Kazakhstan also held a meeting with Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet. The two sides intend to increase bilateral trade by strengthening cooperation in the textile and food industries, construction, transport, and logistics. Furthermore, Kazakhstan is ready to share its experience in digitalization and e-government development. The Cambodian side, in turn, expressed interest in expanding contacts between the governments and business communities of the two countries. At the end of the meeting, Hun Manet invited President Tokayev to visit Cambodia.
