Kazakhstan’s national football
team won the UEFA Euro 2024 qualifying match against Northern Ireland. The
Kazakh team secured the 1-0 victory, with a goal scored by Maxim Samorodov. President
of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev attended the match to support the national
team and congratulated the players on the brilliant win in such an exciting and
tense game. Captain Askhat Tagybergen appreciated the President’s support and
presented him with a ball on behalf of the team. Also, Tokayev commended the
initiative of volunteers and activists to clean the stands after the match. “I
am proud of our football players and wonderful youth,” he wrote on his
Instagram page. With this victory, the national team of Kazakhstan advanced to second
spot in the Euro 2024 Group H qualifying campaign.
