The Forum of Young Researchers was
held in Almaty for the first time, bringing together over 400 talented
schoolchildren from across Kazakhstan. The participants showcased unique
projects across various fields, including industry, ecology, medicine, and
safety. Their innovative solutions included ecological mini-stations,
firefighting robots, and much more. Importantly, all projects, as expected from
genuine scientific research, underwent thorough testing over an extended period
and proved their effectiveness.
«This is a firefighting robot. It is equipped with three
flame sensors. In case any of them detects fire, the robot moves toward the
source and extinguishes it by spraying water. Additionally, the robot can
report the fire via a GPS module,» said Alimzhan Raimzhan, student of the «Zhas
Ulan» school-lyceum.
This exoskeleton, free of additional servomotors or complex
mechanisms, is simple yet effective, helping to prevent workplace injuries. The
students also presented a smart greenhouse.
«Here we have a camera that sends images to the Raspberry
Pi. We have a CNN program, which is artificial intelligence. Based on plant
images, it can determine which factors are needed. These include soil moisture -
it can increase the moisture level, heat the soil, or raise the CO₂ level,» said
Temirlan Boranbai, student of the «Bilim-Innovation» lyceum.
The best of these young talents will join the new Academy of
Young Researchers under the National Academy of Sciences. Its structure has
already been formed by the Council of Young Scientists in cooperation with representatives
of the Ministry of Education.
«To ensure a high-quality and accelerated launch of this
Academy, its structure has been defined. As of today, it consists of two bodies
- collegial and executive. The collegial body will include active participants -
the talents presented at today’s forum. These are our school students and
mentors,» noted Didar Batryshev, Vice President of the National Academy of
Sciences under the President of Kazakhstan.
