More than 100 historical sites, natural sights and cultural monuments were included in the fourth part of the five-volume encyclopedia ‘Sacred Kazakhstan’. The new book, covering data on the unique places and sites of the North Kazakhstan, East Kazakhstan regions and Pavlodar, was presented at the National Museum of Kazakhstan. The event was attended by scientists, historians and local history specialists, who were directly involved in the research and collection of data. The encyclopedia volumes published earlier were dedicated to the sacred sites of several other regions of the country, including Almaty, Akmola, Karagandy, Kostanai, Kyzylorda and the western Kazakhstan, as well as the cities of Nur-Sultan and Almaty.
“Coincidentally, in the year of Abai’s 175th birth anniversary, our fourth volume also includes the region of his homeland. The book was published in two languages with a total circulation of 2,000 copies, including 1,000 in Kazakh and 1,000 in Russian. It was our five year-long project. We plan to publish the fifth volume next year and it will be dedicated to Turkistan region and Shymkent city”, said Batyrkhan Zhumabayev, Head of ‘Sacred Kazakhstan’ Research Center.
