Preparations for the military parade dedicated to the 80th
anniversary of Victory are nearing completion in Astana. General rehearsals
will take place in the capital on May 3 and 5. The parade itself will be held
on May 7, Defender of the Fatherland Day, at the capital’s main square, Kazakh
Eli. Over 4,000 servicemen from the Armed Forces, other troops, and military units
of Kazakhstan will participate in the event. More than 200 pieces of weapons
and military equipment, as well as 66 units of aviation equipment, will be
involved.
«We held a training session in the square. The Minister of
Defense observed the preparations. Overall, the parade crews are 80% ready for
the solemn march. Today, both infantry and special equipment were involved.
Everything went well,» said Tlek Serikpayev, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Ground
Forces of the Armed Forces of Kazakhstan.
