The preliminary results of the investigation into the
Azerbaijan Airlines plane crash near Aktau will be published this week.
According to Kazakh Deputy Prime Minister Kanat Bozumbayev, experts from
Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, and Russia, as well as representatives from the
International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), are involved in the
investigation.
«Within a month, preliminary findings should be available
according to ICAO standards. This refers specifically to an investigation into
an aviation incident conducted by aviation authorities, not a forensic investigation.
As you know, the commission is working and consists of around 17-18 people,
including experts from Russia, Azerbaijan, and representatives from the ICAO,
Brazil, and other countries. The preliminary part will be published. Separately,
a criminal case has been initiated under the supervision of the Prosecutor
General’s Office. Transport Prosecutor Timur Suleimenov keeps it under control.
A ballistic and explosive-technical examination is underway,» noted Kazakh
Deputy Prime Minister Kanat Bozumbayev.
It has also been reported that the families of the Kazakh
citizens who lost their lives in the plane crash will receive assistance. The
exact amount is currently being determined by local authorities, with a final
decision expected this week.
