The high school graduation
examination has commenced in 14 regions of Kazakhstan and will continue until
July 5th. In the six regions affected by flooding, the testing will take place from
May 25th to July 12th. This year, the number of test takers has increased by
nearly 20,000 people, totaling 181,000 applicants. Of these, 75 percent have
chosen Kazakh as their exam language, while the remaining quarter opted for
Russian. Additionally, more than 200 people are taking the test in English.
This year, applicants have the chance to compete for grants based on their best
performance in two out of the five main exams available. The test, consisting
of 120 questions across five school subjects, is carried out in the usual
electronic format. Participants can appeal immediately in case of disagreement
with the results. Furthermore, a smart control system has been implemented to
ensure transparency and fairness.
“There are numerous modern technologies
available at present. This year, we plan to integrate an AI-based monitoring
program into the high school graduation exam. There is also another effective
control method used during testing. We are currently deploying special programs
capable of monitoring the infrastructure and testing system, as well as
preventing various suspicious situations,” said National Testing Center Director
Bolatbek Abdrassilov.
