The Kazakh government has allocated an additional 22.7 billion tenge for infrastructure restoration following the spring floods. Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov announced this during a special meeting on the reconstruction of flood-affected housing and infrastructure. Also, the funds will be directed to the Aktobe, Akmola, Kostanai, and North Kazakhstan regions for the repair, reconstruction, and construction of roads, Bektenov noted. Additionally, 7.5 billion tenge has been earmarked for the restoration of schools in affected areas, with plans to complete this work by the start of the academic year. Furthermore, the Prime Minister has instructed to accelerate recovery efforts before the heating season begins, including providing housing for citizens whose homes are uninhabitable and completing repairs in homes subject to reconstruction.
