Over 250 books by Kazakh authors were
showcased at the Frankfurter Buchmesse-2024 in Germany. More than 30 publishing
and translation houses represented the country at the 76th international book
fair in Frankfurt am Main which brought together over 4,000 authors and
publishers from 95 countries. For many participants, the event is an
opportunity to find new partners, identify trends in book publishing, and
exchange experience. They presented their books, magazines, and newspapers,
including digital formats. For the first time, a separate area for gamers was introduced.
Additionally, this year, twice as much space was allocated to audiobooks and
podcasts.
«Kazakhstan’s participation in the
Frankfurter Buchmesse is a historic event. Today, we are presenting not only
our cultural heritage but also our classic and contemporary authors, as well as
our publishers. There are numerous dialogue platforms where the latest trends
in book publishing will be discussed, including the use of AI, rights exchange,
and other marketing and legal innovations. We are ready to discuss all modern
trends in order to implement them in the sphere of Kazakhstan’s book publishing,»
noted Rustam Ali, the chairman of the Committee for Archives, Documentation and
Book Affairs of the Kazakh Ministry of Culture and Information.
