Astana is hosting Culture Days of
Turkmenistan featuring various festive events which showcase the rich cultural
heritage of Kazakhstan’s neighboring country. Among these is an exhibition of
Turkmenistan’s folk applied arts and museum treasures that took place at Kuanyshbayev
Kazakh State Academic Musical and Drama Theater. Turkmen people’s artists and
honored cultural figures presented a unique dance and music program to the
residents and visitors of the Kazakh capital, marking another memorable event.
According to the organizers, the series of events is not over yet. This week
will include screenings of feature films by renowned Turkmen directors, a
monodrama performance, and a show of national clothing. The celebration will
conclude with a gala concert featuring art masters from the two countries on
June 27.
«The Turkmen people are well acquainted with the
people of Kazakhstan. For centuries, we have lived together on the
shores of the Caspian Sea, and our relations have evolved from neighborship to
a brotherhood. The Turkmen and Kazakh peoples consider each other as fraternal,»
said poetess Bayramsoltan Gurbanova.
