The process of providing
compensation to those affected by floods is underway in Kazakhstan. Over 16,000
families have already received a one-time payment, with about six billion tenge
having been directed to this goal. According to the press service of the
country’s Prime Minister, regional commissions have received nearly 25,000
applications for assistance so far. Over 4,500 residential buildings have been
inspected, of which 2,800 were assessed. 696 million tenge have been allocated to
530 families for repair works and housing restoration. 53 families in the
Akmola, Kostanai, Karagandy, and Pavlodar regions have received houses and
apartments to replace destroyed housing.
