The Karagandy Academic Theater of the Musical Comedy arrived on tour in Nur-Sultan. The team chose the Astana Opera theatre as a stage for showing their unique artistry. Performers will present here musicals, operettas, and fairytales to visitors and residents of the city. All performances will be accompanied by a symphony orchestra. Guest conductor is a maestro from Belarus – Nikolai Makarevich.
“Since I work in the capital of Belarus, Minsk city, this tour is somewhat exciting for me. I come to Kazakhstan at the invitation. We are keen to support performances, but this time it would be a kind of examination for me,” said Nikolai Makarevich, guest conductor from the Belarusian Academic Musical Theatre.
According to the head of the Karagandy theatre, the tour to the capital coincided with the opening of the theater’s 50th anniversary season. The theatre prepared a versatile program for visitors and residents of Nur-Sultan, which combines theatrical and musical arts.
“We brought a remarkable repertoire this time, including “The Canterville Ghost” musical by Vladimir Baskin, one of the most wonderful composers of our times, which was written in the best traditions of the genre in Broadway Musicals. We will perform an all-time classic that was chosen to represent our theatre – an operetta in three acts “Die Zirkusprinzessin” (The Circus Princess) by Emmerich Kalman and “Scarlet Sails” musical by Maksim Dunayevsky, which is popular in almost all theatre space,” Amantai Ibrayev, head of the Karagandy Academic Theatre of Musical Comedy, said.
“I am not exaggerating when I say this is a great honor for us. Our whole team arrived here. The symphony orchestra, choir, ballet and orchestra and soloists fully devoted themselves to this event. Next weekend we will meet again with the metropolitan audience. Later, on August 25, we will go to Almaty. To put it simply, we do our best to please our spectators,” said Margarita Turebekova, instrumentalist of the Karagandy Academic Musical Comedy Theater, shared.
In addition to artists from Karagandy, a troupe from the Turkistan Music and Drama Theatre will also arrive on tour in the capital at the end of August. They will perform on the stage of the Astana Opera on August 27 and 28.
