In Kazakhstan’s major cities, plans are underway to launch
overnight express bus routes connecting airports to city centers. The
initiative aims to enhance comfort and safety for tourists. According to Minister
of Tourism and Sports Yerbol Myrzabossynov, a QR code system has been
implemented at all international airports in the country. It provides
information about taxi services, e-SIM cards, and tourist attractions, along
with the option to book hotels online. Kazakhstan is currently witnessing a
surge in international tourism. A visa-free regime applies to citizens of 87
countries, while travelers from 107 states can enter via an electronic visa.
Air connectivity is also expanding - 22 new routes were launched last year, with
32 more planned for this year. Overall, more than 15 million foreign tourists visited Kazakhstan in 2024, alongside 10
million domestic travelers.
«Conditions must be created to enhance Kazakhstan’s appeal as
a tourist-friendly destination for foreign visitors. Significant work is
underway in this regard. The network of international air, rail and road routes
is expanding. Migration procedures for foreign citizens are being simplified,
with particular attention being paid to ensuring a comfortable and safe stay
for our guests,» noted Kazakh Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov.
