Projects worth 336 billion tenge underway in Astana industrial park

A total of 140 projects worth 336 billion tenge are being implemented in industrial park No. 1 in the Kazakh capital. It is located within the Astana - New City special economic zone. Currently, 82 enterprises are operating there, while another 58 are in the implementation stage. They are expected to be launched by the end of next year.

«Several large factories are located within our industrial park. They export their products in priority areas, mainly to CIS countries. Overall, investment attraction is carried out on a one-stop-shop principle, providing full support to investors. Various incentives and preferences are available for them. Astana attracts foreign investment, including from Türkiye, Russia, and China,» noted Almat Alimbai, Director of the Industrial Zone Administration Department, Astana Invest.

A modular construction plant has been operating in the park for five years. The enterprise produces volumetric modules - ready-made rooms equipped with all necessary utilities. According to the company, this technology significantly reduces construction time and costs. In Astana, several dozen residential complexes have already been built using it.

«The current production capacity of the enterprise is 120,000 square meters of sellable area per year. Compared to three years ago, productivity has tripled. At present, every stage of production is monitored by the quality control department. Kazakhstan’s raw materials account for about 60% of all materials used,» said plant director Valeriy Zorin.

The industrial park also produces modern sandwich panels, metal structures, furniture, and medical equipment. Work is currently underway to create a second park, where more than 100 projects worth over 500 billion tenge are planned with investor involvement. Notably, Astana holds a leading position in the country in terms of investment inflows into the economy. In the first nine months of this year alone, the figure grew by almost 40 percent, reaching 1.7 trillion tenge.
