Kazakhstan and Islamic Development Bank deepen cooperation

Kazakhstan can serve as an example for other Central Asian countries in economic diversification, said Rami Ahmad, Vice President of the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB), in an exclusive interview with our TV channel. He also noted that the international financial institution will allocate over $1 billion for projects aimed at improving Kazakhstan’s water infrastructure. The funding will be directed toward ensuring water security for both the country and the region as a whole. Ahmad emphasized that Kazakhstan holds an important position among the Bank’s partners in Central Asia. The IsDB Group’s Annual Meetings are currently taking place in Algeria. The event brings together ministers of finance, economy, international development, and planning from the Bank’s 57 member countries, including Kazakhstan.

«Kazakhstan also could play a very good role as an example for the countries in the region, and we are looking forward for an enhanced and enriched interaction between Kazakhstan and the rest of the member countries. We are not only talking about how can IsDB help in Kazakhstan, but also how can we replicate the success stories in Kazakhstan and other countries and replicate them in other countries in the region,» Ahmad said.
