Number of ecotourists in Kazakhstan up by 40%

The number of ecotourists in Kazakhstan is on the rise. Last year alone, their number increased by 40%, reaching nearly three million people. According to the relevant ministry, the natural attractions of the Almaty region are the most popular among travelers. These include the Ile-Alatau National Park, Sharyn, Altyn-Emel, and the Kolsai Lakes. There are a total of 14 national parks in the country, where infrastructure development is actively underway. Visitor centers, campsites, glamping sites, and other facilities are being built. In recent years, eight modern visitor centers have been constructed. They provide visitors with information about the natural ecosystem, wild animal habitats, recommended routes, and rules for staying in specially protected areas.
