A popular Czech manufacturer of various types of transport, Skoda Transportation, intends to open its production facilities in Kazakhstan. The company is known for manufacturing trams, carriages, metro trains, trolleybuses, and electric buses all over the world. The locomotives conglomerate now intends to launch its projects for the production, maintenance, and modernization of railway and urban public transport in Kazakhstan as well. The country’s Prime Minister Alikhan Smailov held negotiations with Chairman of the Board of Skoda Transportation Didier Pfleger. Smailov proposed creating a production with a high level of localization and a full cycle in the country. He highlighted that a special working group with the participation of all concerned government agencies and organizations is operating to elaborate mutually beneficial cooperation with Skoda Transportation. In turn, Pfleger said that his company is ready to enter new markets. Therefore, it considers Kazakhstan as a promising partner for localization and development of its production.
