Dozens of global leaders in IT, artificial
intelligence, neurobiology, and education have gathered in Astana for the Nobel
Fest, a large-scale event that traditionally brings together Nobel laureates
and innovators. This year’s lineup features Gary Bolles, the world number one
expert on the future of work, Rae Kwon Chung, the former adviser to the UN
Secretary-General, and renowned scientist Konstantin Severinov. Severinov
emphasized that education, one of the festival’s key themes, is currently
undergoing transformation, necessitating the adoption of new approaches for its
progress.
«Obviously, education must evolve at all
levels. It is very important to engage with children and find those groups that
may seem opposed to your views, identifying leaders among them and working
collaboratively. It seems to me that high-quality school education has that
kind of effect that shapes a person’s worldview. When students graduate, they
should have a rational understanding of the world,» said Severinov, who is also
an expert in molecular biology.
At the festival, Kazakhstan’s leading
educational institutions showcased innovative digital service products in
education. One of them was a platform that has been successfully implemented in
a private school in Almaty for two years. The developers note that the platform
is adapted for all participants of the process.
«The advantage is that we address not only
academic issues but also HR, accounting, and legal matters. This includes
electronic document management, online signing, and more. It is called an
ecosystem because it handles a wide range of processes within a school while
also integrating with external systems for biometrics and payments,» noted
project manager Murat Zhashkeyev.
The National Teacher Prize competition, organized
as part of the Nobel Fest, will select the winner who will represent Kazakhstan
at the Global Teacher Prize.
