Government announces measures to increase income of population

The creation of new industrial clusters, financial support for SMEs, the implementation of investment projects and the development of microlending - the Kazakh government announced a number of measures envisaged by the program to increase the income of the population. It is intended to run until 2025. The plans for its implementation were explained by several ministers. Kazakh Minister of National Economy Alibek Kuantyrov focused on the economic situation in the country. He noted that the share of labor income of Kazakh citizens in the last 10 years decreased by almost 11 percentage points. In turn, on the contrary, the share of social transfers increased by the same amount. As a result, the following priorities were identified on the basis of the conducted analysis. Thus, a large role in the implementation of the program will be assigned to supporting the working youth and employment of socially vulnerable segments of the population. The salaries of public sector workers, including doctors, nurses and teachers, are also expected to increase. In addition, special attention is paid to the development of employment in agriculture and the manufacturing industry.

“The implementation of the above-mentioned measures will ensure the systematic achievement of the following five targets by 2025. The share of wages in GDP will reach 34.5 percent; the share of income from labor activity in total income - 76.2 percent; the proportion of the population with incomes below the subsistence level - 5.2 percent and the unemployment rate will be 4.7 percent. Over the entire period, new jobs will be created for more than two million people,” Kuantyrov said.
