President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev congratulated Kazakh citizens on the joyous holiday of Nauryz, emphasizing that the nation approached this day in unity and harmony following ancient traditions. Today, Nauryz has become a national holiday, eagerly awaited and celebrated by everyone, regardless of ethnic and religious differences, the President said. He recalled that from this year Nauryz is celebrated for ten days, including today’s Solidarity Day. Tokayev highlighted the symbolic meaning of renewal and revival embodied by the holiday. Nauryz marks a new stage in the society’s development this year, marked by the identification of fundamental values resonating deeply within every citizen.
“Our country has an ambitious goal of building a Just Kazakhstan. We strive to create a just society where diligence paves the path to success. Only responsible citizens can build such a society. Justice and honesty are inseparable concepts. The society we are building will ensure equal opportunities for everyone. A just state is the rule of law and order. To become an advanced state, we must all look to the future with confidence. We pin our hopes on the youth who hold the destiny of Kazakhstan in their hands,” said the Head of State.
The future entails constant movement and development. President Tokayev outlined the implementation of four major projects. Thus, the country plans to modernize several thermal power plants and engineering networks as well as to build and repair 12,000 kilometers of roads. This year, 300,000 people will be provided with natural gas. A new housing program will be launched for residents of villages and districts as well.
“The loan rate for citizens from socially vulnerable categories will not exceed seven percent. The number of rental housing will significantly increase. All this will undoubtedly contribute to improving citizens’ quality of life. Such beneficial measures will be further taken in the future. Once again, I sincerely congratulate everyone on today’s spring holiday! I wish everyone happiness and prosperity!” added the Head of State.
President Tokayev also attended the international festival called ‘Nauryz Fest’ in Almaty. The event brought together the cultures and traditions of countries celebrating Nauryz, including the Central Asian states, Azerbaijan, Turkey, Mongolia and Bashkortostan. Foreign guests presented their decorative and applied arts as well as folk music. In addition, the festival venue featured interactive zones and spaces for children’s creativity and robotics.
