The illustrated book «Zhoshy Khan. Ruler of the Great Ulus»
tells the story of one of the key figures in the history of the Golden Horde,
highlighting his role in the formation of the Great Ulus and the establishment
of Kazakh statehood. Written by renowned Kazakh journalist and documentary
filmmaker Maya Bekbayeva, the book was presented in Almaty. It is intended for
a wide audience and is published in Kazakh, Russian, and English.
«The book is being released ahead of the premiere of our
major documentary feature film dedicated to Zhoshy Khan. This film is being
created in collaboration with the TV and Radio Complex of the Kazakh President.
The book contains many historical details and references that will not be
featured in the film. For example, what was the Golden Horde, and where did its
name originate? These topics are explored in detail in the book,» Bekbayeva
said.
