The European Union is set to
enhance cooperation with Kazakhstan, as announced by International Special
Envoy for the Implementation of EU Sanctions David O’Sullivan during a press
conference in Astana. Overall, the EU has a positive agenda of cooperation with
Kazakhstan. During the meeting with journalists, the foreign envoy highlighted
that the parties are implementing a number of joint ambitious projects and have
promising plans for the future, particularly, in the field of green
technologies and transport.
“The meetings today were
conducted in a constructive and positive fashion and we have agreed technical
follow-up meetings in order to work on how we can work more closely. And it’s
very important I think both sides have agreed that we should not allow this
sanction issue to become an obstacle to the development of those closer
economic relations. This was a follow-up to the visit we had last April also
with the US colleagues,” O’Sullivan said.
