Kazakhstan plans to expand cooperation with a leading U.S. university. Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov and University of Arizona President Suresh Garimella discussed expanding joint academic programs, scientific research, and technology transfer. More than 1,200 students are currently enrolled in joint programs offered by Manash Kozybayev North Kazakhstan University and the University of Arizona, with the first cohort set to graduate this year. The two sides also explored expanding research cooperation in water resources, agricultural genomics, artificial intelligence, digital health, and sulfur processing. The meeting concluded with an emphasis on the importance of further strengthening cooperation and improving the quality of specialist training.
«Kazakhstan is a good example because of how the country is growing, your demographics, your location, and your interests that the country’s leadership has shown in promoting education, workforce development, and economic development, etc. Оur mission to serve extends across the globe, and the Kazakh partnership we have is a big part of that. We are very honored to be the first large international partner university for the country of Kazakhstan,» Garimella said.
Kazakhstan and Japan expand investment partnership
The Prime Minister also met with a delegation from the Japan Business
Federation (Keidanren). The two sides discussed expanding trade, investment,
and economic cooperation, as well as implementing joint projects in
digitalization, logistics, energy, and technology transfer. Japan is one of
Kazakhstan's key trade and economic partners in East Asia. Bilateral trade
exceeded $1.7 billion last year.
