New Constitution – guarantee of Kazakhstan’s democratic development

Kazakhstan is entering a new stage of its development. According to Member of the European Parliament Thierry Mariani, the constitutional changes in the country have been timely. The French politician noted that over the years of independence, the country has achieved significant economic growth and strengthened its position on the global stage. Today, Kazakhstan is taking the next step modernizing its political system, developing modern state institutions, and continuing its course toward democratic reforms.

«The transition to a unicameral system makes state institutions more responsive, more open, and better adapted to the modern world. In France, passing legislation can sometimes take one or two years, as the Senate tends to be more conservative and resistant to reforms. Democracy in Kazakhstan is already firmly established. This is an effective way to move forward more quickly and make decisions more efficientlynoted Member of the European Parliament Thierry Mariani.
