There is now a new way of studying the Kazakh history - thus, people in Atyrau can learn more about the mound and museum-reserve of Saraishyk, the monuments to Khiuaz Dospanova, Zhumeken Nazhimedenov and Dina Nurpeissova via QR codes. It bears noting that 15 million tenge was spent from the local budget for the project to digitize the region’s cultural heritage. There are currently four objects of national significance and over 300 historical and cultural monuments of local level in the region.
“The information is available in five languages, including Kazakh, Russian, English, Turkish and Chinese. It can be obtained through training, as well as by listening to audio recordings and conducting a 3D tour. It is a very convenient project for tourists from different regions of Kazakhstan, as well as foreign nationals coming from abroad,” explained Alima Ramazanova, Spokesperson for the Entrepreneurship and Tourism Department in the Atyrau region.
Meanwhile, Pavlodar is popularizing the literary heritage of well-known poets, writers and public figures. Information about outstanding historical figures is placed at bus stops. The so-called mini-museums are planned to be opened at more than 40 such stations around the city. The authors of the project hope that by doing that they will be able to familiarize the local residents with the people who have made an invaluable contribution to the history of Kazakhstan.
“The most important thing is the education of the population. People should know everything about historical figures who were born, lived and worked in the Irtysh region in different years. I think this is a good idea that will bring fruitful results,” said Medet Tauaskan, Acting Head of the Department of Culture, Language Development and Archives in the Pavlodar region.
