Kazakh First Deputy Prime
Minister Roman Sklyar met with residents of villages in the Yessil district of
the North Kazakhstan region. He noted that all losses sustained by those
affected by the floods will be compensated. Sklyar also added that new houses
would be constructed to replace those deemed beyond repair. Notably, a special
commission will assess the condition of the houses once the water recedes.
During his visit, Sklyar also inspected two evacuation points, a bridge, and
checked the safety of passenger transportation during the flood period.
Additional equipment to be
dispatched to Atyrau Region for shore protection works
Meanwhile, it has been announced
that additional equipment from other regions will be dispatched to the Atyrau
region for shore protection works. This decision was made by Kazakh Deputy
Prime Minister and Deputy Head of the National Operational Headquarters Kanat
Bozumbayev. Notably, the equipment will be delivered from the Zhambyl,
Kyzylorda, Turkistan and Mangystau regions. Bozumbayev, accompanied by Atyrau
region governor Serik Shapkenov, conducted an aerial survey along the Ural
River, inspecting the shore protection works and dam construction activities.
It is noteworthy that works are also underway in Atyrau itself. Bozumbayev gave
instructions for further strengthening of vulnerable areas along the river.
These measures are aimed at preventing future floods and safeguarding
settlements and attractions.
