A new format of compulsory military service will be launched
in Kazakhstan. The SARBAZ+ pilot project is aimed at integrating modern
technologies, improving service conditions, and developing the professional
skills of soldiers. Under the initiative, 150 conscripts will serve using the
new model. Each of them will be given fitness bracelets that track biometric
indicators in real time. All collected data will be sent to a centralized
monitoring system available to medical personnel and commanders, enabling constant
health monitoring. The project also introduces a video analytics system and
features basic training programs in telecommunications and IT. Conscripts will
receive knowledge of the basics of operating drones and radio communications,
and attend additional classes in Kazakh and English. The SARBAZ+ program will
also cover officers and sergeants. They will undergo advanced training,
including under an international program in network technologies. If
successful, the initiative will be expanded to other units of Kazakhstan’s
Armed Forces.
