A marathon of ideas for tourism development is taking place
in Astana, where Kazakh youth are presenting their vision for the industry’s
future. On the first day of the event, students from Maqsut Narikbayev
University shared innovative ideas. A total of 25 teams are showcasing projects
across three focus areas. In particular, they are expected to develop concepts
for tourism events that connect Astana’s landmarks. The students will also
present proposals for creating new tourist attractions and points of interest
in the capital, as well as improving the city’s infrastructure through digital
solutions. Notably, the marathon will also be held at other universities across
Astana. The best ideas will be implemented as part of the urban tourism
development program.
«We are developing the ‘Evently’ application. It will
feature all the popular restaurants in Kazakhstan. Users will be able to view
photos and videos of each venue and choose the one that suits them best. The
main advantage is saving time and money. Additionally, users will be able to reserve
a table in advance and make an online prepayment, for example, for a specific
date, such as May 25,» shared Maqsut Narikbayev University student Diana
Rashid.
«According to statistics, the number of tourists in Astana
is growing. In 2024, the capital welcomed 1.5 million visitors. This year, we
have a big goal - to increase this figure to 1.7 million. Overall, the tourism
sector is developing year by year, and I believe that the creative ideas and
proposals of young people will play an important role in this progress,» noted Maksat
Zhanabayev, Deputy Head of the Astana Investment and Entrepreneurship
Development Department.
