French and Italian fashion houses might start
using Kazakhstan’s textiles for their collections. Threads and fabrics for
these collections will be produced at a factory in Turkistan. A capsule was laid
under the foundation for a cotton agro-industrial complex in the Turan special
economic zone. The complex will feature 11 workshops for a full-cycle factory,
constructed by a Chinese company that works directly with globally renowned
brands. The enterprise intends to produce 13,000 tonnes of yarn, 50 million
meters of home textiles, and seven million sets of bed linen per year. The
project is set to be implemented next year.
«We will produce high-quality threads and fabrics as Kazakh cotton is
known for its softness and durability. Products made from it hold their shape
well and do not become static,
shrink, fade, tear, or lose color in the sun. Our products will be purchased by textile
factories all over the world, which means that they will reach brands like Louis Vuitton and Gucci,» said Xu Jie, Director of the
Turkistan Cotton Agro-Industrial
Complex.
