Kazakhstan to cover 1.2 million citizens with employment promotion measures in 2021

The sector of employment is being modernized in Kazakhstan. For this purpose, the tools of the ‘Yenbek’ state program are being reinforced. It will be restructured into a national project from July 1, Kazakh Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Population Serik Shapkenov announced. Completely new tools and business processes will be introduced. Thus, a set of measures will be adopted to convert employment services into electronic format. Kazakh residents will now be able to upgrade their skills while at the workplace. A nationwide online training platform for professions that are in demand will be launched on the basis of the electronic labor exchange. The process of supporting new entrepreneurial initiatives will also be maximally automated, including through implementation of a single-window system. Mobile and digital employment centers will open in rural areas.

“The measures taken under the national project will help to improve the quality of life of the population in the future and increase real income by 27 percent, raise wages to 304,000 tenge (US$707), create new jobs and reduce the unemployment rate to 4.7 percent by 2025,” said Serik Shapkenov.

Regional employment maps will be developed already this summer. Overall, this year it is planned to support 1.2 million Kazakh citizens with employment measures. By the end of the year, 36,000 people will receive technical vocational education, and 15,000 people will acquire business skills. This year, 5,000 microcredits and 21,000 grants will be issued to citizens for opening and expansion of businesses.
