The global environmental crisis is a pressing issue for the entire world
today. According to experts, religion can help promote environmental protection by viewing it as a moral
duty to humanity. This will be one of the topics discussed at the Congress of Leaders
of World and Traditional Religions, which is expected
to bring together delegations from 60 countries. The
event will take place in Astana on September 17-18. The forum serves not only as a platform for dialogue, but also as an
authoritative venue for adopting concrete decisions and forwarding documents to international
organizations. The Congress will also address issues related to new
technologies and the role of religion in the digital age.
«If we look at religion itself, at its core lies respect for the environment and for humanity - that is, the responsible use of its benefits and resources. From this perspective, our religious leaders, as well as global religious leaders, recognize how invaluable these resources are. They have much to contribute on this issue. This initiative will be put forward at the Congress, and the proposal will be reflected in its documents»,- noted Ruslan Ibrayev, Director of the Department at the International Center for Interfaith and Interreligious Dialogue.
