Latvian ports are ready to receive cargo from Kazakhstan. This was revealed following a joint meeting of the two countries on freight traffic, the press service of the Kazakh Ministry of Industry and Infrastructure Development reports. As spokespeople of the relevant department noted, in view of the difficulties encountered in transporting Kazakh export goods from Russian ports and the refusal of transit ports in Antwerp, Hamburg, Pyrenees, Rotterdam and Muuga Harbour to receive goods, they will be redirected to the largest Latvian harbors. The latter, located in Riga, Ventspils and Liepaja, agreed to receive and serve Kazakh transit. Latvian ports have sufficient capacity and throughput, the country’s representatives noted.
