Kazakh pottery masters attended an
international symposium of ceramists in the Kyrgyz Republic, sharing unique
techniques and exchanging experiences with masters from Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan,
Belarus, Russia, and South Korea. Applied and decorative arts professionals and
enthusiasts discussed new trends and ideas. The event also featured masterclasses
and presented the best works. According to the organizers, the meeting was
aimed at promoting folk crafts and preserving cultural heritage in the era of
globalization.
«If a jug has a narrow neck, it is usually
intended for decorative purposes since pouring liquid from it is difficult.
However, if the neck is wide, the product can be used daily. A wide neck
simplifies the process of filling and cleaning the jug, making it not only a
beautiful interior element but also a functional household item,» said Syimyk Bolotbekuulu,
ceramist from the Kyrgyz Republic.
«On this platform, I want to not only
showcase my works but also share my valuable experience in making ceramic
dishes in South Korean style. This direction is unique in its techniques,
forms, and exceptional attention to detail. Korean ceramics are famous for
their elegance, subtlety of execution, and deep symbolism conveyed through
patterns and painting,» shared Song In-gil, ceramist from the South Korea.
As the masters say, today pottery is
experiencing a new round of demand. It can be branded and decorated with
national ornaments, thus turning into unique interior pieces. It serves as
setting elements in cafes, restaurants, and hotels. And of course, ceramic art
is highly valued worldwide, especially among connoisseurs of aesthetics and
traditions.
