World War II veteran Mikhail Podolyakov from
Kostanai will celebrate his 100th birthday this year. A congratulatory ceremony
was organized in the courtyard of his home, accompanied by an orchestra, and featuring
the youth who cleaned up, following the tradition. Despite his age, the veteran
personally came out to greet and thank for the attention. Mikhail Ivanovich is
a true example of valour, patriotism, and love for the homeland. He went to the
front in 1942 at the age of 17. He has many awards, orders, and medals. In
peacetime, Mikhail Ivanovich worked hard and was involved in public activities.
«Thank you for visiting a front-line soldier,
a veteran. I am already at a respectable age and have lived my life. I have defended
the Motherland. Thank you all, the youth,» Podolyakov said.
