AI elements to be integrated into Kazakhstan’s education system

Over 4 million children in Kazakhstan will attend school this year, including more than 340,000 first graders. Preparations for the new academic year were discussed at a government meeting.

«A key feature of the new school year will be the integration of artificial intelligence into the secondary education system. AI has been incorporated into the subjects Digital Literacy and Computer Science, and ethical standards have been established. Day of AI online courses have been developed for students in grades 1-11, and training programs will be offered for teachers,» said Gani Beisembayev, Kazakh Minister of Education.

AI will be integrated into digital literacy classes for grades 1-4, using free Kazakh- and Russian-language content with interactive lessons. Plans also include introducing AI technologies into the system of technical and vocational education.
