The updated Constitution, supported by 87% of Kazakh citizens, reflects societal demands and marks a key milestone in political reforms. The results of the constitutional referendum were presented in Bukhara by Mazhilis Speaker Yerlan Koshanov during the third session of the Kazakhstan-Uzbekistan Interparliamentary Cooperation Council. The session highlighted strong parliamentary cooperation and its role in implementing high-level agreements. Key topics included trade and economic ties, energy, environmental issues, and digitalization. Special attention was given to technological partnership, particularly the collaboration between Astana Hub and Uzbekistan’s IT Park. Discussions also covered the agricultural sector and the green economy. The next session of the Council is scheduled to take place in Turkistan.
«Kazakhstan
attaches special importance to strengthening its centuries-old ties of
friendship and good-neighbor relations with Uzbekistan. Thanks to the political
will of our heads of state, an exemplary model of strategic partnership and
alliance has been established. At last year’s meeting in Almaty, we reviewed
the current state and prospects of economic cooperation and exchanged views on
how to preserve and expand the achievements to date. Special emphasis was
placed on cooperation in culture, education, and tourism,» Koshanov said.
