Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan are advancing toward deeper economic integration. Several key agreements and contracts were signed during President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev’s state visit to Tashkent, including plans for joint development of IT clusters abroad. The countries aim to promote technology companies in international markets through a network of hubs. Existing hubs operate in Silicon Valley and Shanghai, and preparations are underway to open a new center in Dubai.
«There are a number of directions that we cooperate between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan in the IT sphere. First of all, it’s a joint cooperation on opening IT hubs on global markets. So, for example, there are IT hubs that we opened together in Silicon Valley in the U.S., where startups from the whole Central Eurasian region have an infrastructure to meet with venture capitals,» said Zhaslan Madiyev, Kazakh Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development.
Among the signed documents is an agreement between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan on the joint use of water resources. Kazakh Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation Nurzhan Nurzhigitov said a working group has been established to forecast water flows in transboundary rivers. The initiative will place special emphasis on digitizing the sector.
«In addition, a list of water management facilities is
being established for joint repair, restoration, and reconstruction by both
Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. The list includes 12 canals located in both
countries, all designated for interstate use,» Nurzhigitov said.
