Kazakhstan to hold Kurultai elections on August 23

Kazakhstan has set the date for the first elections to the Kurultai. They are scheduled for August 23. President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev signed the corresponding decree. The Central Election Commission will oversee the preparation and conduct of the elections, while the government and local executive authorities have been instructed to provide all necessary conditions for the electoral process. Notably, the unicameral Kurultai will replace both the Mazhilis and the Senate. The new representative body will consist of 145 deputies.
