Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan are committed to further deepening
their bilateral strategic partnership. The heads of state discussed this during
an informal meeting in Almaty as part of Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s working visit to
Kazakhstan. President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev noted that such informal meetings
are a good tradition and an opportunity to define future prospects.
«This is a great opportunity to exchange views in a
businesslike atmosphere on how we are working on an important task - the
development of cooperation between our fraternal, friendly nations. We are
allies, and the situation in the Central Asian region largely depends on how
the relations between our countries develop,» Tokayev noted.
The two presidents emphasized the importance of developing
their countries’ economies. The more actively it progresses, the greater the
boost to mutual trade. Moreover, high-quality economic cooperation between
Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan benefits the entire Central Asian region.
«We are allies. Thanks to our personal relationship, many
issues are being resolved, and there are tangible results. I would like to
congratulate you on Kazakhstan’s achievements. The country’s economy is growing,
and I always say that a strong Kazakhstan means a strong Uzbekistan. We have a
lot of work ahead. There is great potential and reserves in many areas. Each meeting
gives a significant boost to our relations,» Mirziyoyev said.
The Presidents of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan toured the Almaty
ski cluster and commended its tourist potential as one of the leading resorts
in Central Asia. They also attended the AlmatyFair.ai exhibition dedicated to
the development of artificial intelligence. The heads of state were briefed on
the activities of the Central Asian Innovation Hubs, a brand under which the
largest technology parks of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan united last year to
promote innovation in the global market. Additionally, Tokayev and Mirziyoyev
visited the Kasteyev National Museum of Arts, where they viewed an exhibition
of his paintings and explored the works of Ural Tansykbayev.
