Kazakhstan conducted 13 major state audits in the
first six months of 2026, covering financial resources totaling 5.8 trillion
tenge. As a result of the audits, 128 billion tenge was returned to the state
budget. Chairman of the Supreme Audit Chamber Alikhan Smailov briefed President
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev on the chamber's performance in the first half of the
year. By the end of the year, another 20 state audits are planned, including
four to be carried out on the direct instructions of the President. In addition,
together with the new Kurultai, the chamber will assess the draft national
budget for 2027–2029. President Tokayev instructed the chamber to continue
improving the state audit system, with priority given to implementing digital
solutions and AI technologies.
