Kazakhstan, U.S. to expand cooperation

The Atameken National Chamber of Entrepreneurs and the U.S.-Kazakhstan Business Council of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce have signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Strategic Partnership at a roundtable in Astana. The agreement provides for expanded industrial cooperation, as well as joint projects in the agricultural and transport and logistics sectors. Last November, during the Head of State’s visit to the United States, investment agreements worth more than $25 billion were signed, giving fresh momentum to bilateral cooperation. In the first four months of this year alone, bilateral trade exceeded $1 billion, up 10% from the same period in 2025.

«Around 200 companies are participating in the forum, including representatives from the technology, industrial, and financial sectors. Today, U.S. companies are investing in Kazakhstan not only in the extractive industries but are increasingly active in the manufacturing sector,» said Kanat Sharlapayev, Chairman of the Presidium of Kazakhstan’s Atameken National Chamber of Entrepreneurs.

«So, I think since over the past year or two, we have seen a really fast, I think, increase in bilateral business deals. There's a strong interest in American companies in Kazakhstan, and I think that the government of the United States is very much looking at Kazakhstan through primarily a business lens,» said Jeff Erlich, Executive Director of the American Chamber of Commerce in Kazakhstan
