Kazakhstan’s IT services exports hit $700 million last year

Kazakhstan’s IT services exports are on the rise, with the figures reaching $700 million last year. In the first half of 2025 alone, residents of Astana Hub exported 50% more than in the same period in 2024. Overall, their revenue last year amounted to 1.2 trillion tenge. Kazakhstan has also established 19 regional IT hubs, along with representative offices in the U.S., the UK, Dubai, and China. In total, the number of IT companies in the country has exceeded 18,000.

«2024 and 2025 have become landmark years for artificial intelligence. A concept through 2029 has been approved, and work is underway on an AI and digital transformation strategy, as well as a draft law on AI. President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has also established an International Advisory Council on AI to exchange views with global experts and prepare recommendations for Kazakhstan’s development in this area said Kazakh Minister of Digital Development, Innovations and Aerospace Industry Zhaslan Madiyev.

Alongside this, the country has introduced the Kaz-Tech national platform, enabling IT products to be developed three to four times faster. It has also launched AlemLLM, the largest Kazakh-language model, and the first supercomputer cluster in Central Asia. In addition, preparations are underway to open the International Center for AI Alem.AI.
