Kazakhstan-Türkiye joint project portfolio totals $9.5 billion

The portfolio of joint projects between Kazakhstan and Türkiye amounts to $9.5 billion, comprising more than 170 investment initiatives across various sectors. Their implementation was discussed at a roundtable in Astana attended by Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov and Vice President of Türkiye Cevdet Yilmaz. Representatives of leading Kazakh and Turkish companies also took part in the business meeting. One of the companies plans to build a shipbuilding plant in Kazakhstan. In addition, the launch of a cargo center is planned. Overall, joint projects are currently being implemented in the country, including the construction of a thermal power plant, as well as pharmaceutical and agro-processing complexes. The Kazakh side reaffirmed its readiness to provide comprehensive support for new initiatives, while Turkish businesses highly praised the efforts to create a favorable investment climate in the country.

«Over the past more than 20 years, Turkish investors have invested over $6 billion in Kazakhstan’s economy. At the same time, total investment from Kazakhstan into the Republic of Türkiye has reached $2.4 billion.  Currently, more than 5,000 enterprises with Turkish capital are registered in the country, creating thousands of jobs through joint efforts,» Olzhas Bektenov noted.

«Kazakhstan has achieved significant progress under the leadership of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. The constitutional reforms have strengthened the country’s political stability and institutional framework. We highly appreciate the reforms and transformations in Kazakhstan and congratulate the brotherly nation on its achievements. The country’s economy has shown significant growth, with GDP exceeding $300 billion last year. We are confident that these figures will continue to rise,» Cevdet Yilmaz said.
