Kazakhstan to host largest inclusive run

Applications for the Run for Autism IV charity marathon in Astana are now open. This year, Kazakhstan’s largest inclusive initiative will take place on April 26. Over the past three years, around 6,500 people have taken part in the marathon, and the funds raised have helped open 25 inclusive classrooms. The organizers have also launched educational courses for teachers, which have been completed by 4,000 people from Central Asia. Run for Autism is part of an international charitable initiative held annually in New York, London, Berlin, and other cities around the world. Participants include professional athletes, children and teenagers with developmental differences, as well as caring members of the public. The race distance will range from one to 10 kilometers.

«This is the largest inclusive race, bringing together participants from our country as well as from the CIS. International participants travel specifically to join us and support the charitable mission of the run - helping people with developmental differences. Many of these children are now graduating from school, and we want to help them pursue vocational education. That is why this year Run for Autism will be specifically focused on supporting this goal. We expect this year’s event to be the largest yet, with around 5,000 participants taking part,» noted Samal Albilekova, head of social and inclusive programs, Bolashak Charity Public Foundation.
