Kazakhstan to host Games of the Future in 2026

Kazakhstan is preparing to host the Games of the Future international tournament in the summer of 2026. Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov discussed preparations with René Fasel, the founder of Phygital International, and the organization’s CEO Nis Hatt. Special attention was given to the development of phygital sports - a new and promising direction that combines physical activity with digital technology. Today, more than 1.5 million Kazakh citizens are actively engaged in eSports. Hosting an international event of this scale in Astana is expected to further boost the popularity of this sport among young people. The tournament is set to bring together over 1,500 athletes from 100 countries, who will compete in 13 disciplines for a total prize pool of $10 million. The opening and closing ceremonies are planned as grand, high-tech shows featuring global stars.
