Kazakhstan will export honey to Europe. One of the country’s
domestic companies has received official recognition of its quality standards
and has been included in the EU-approved register. Experts say this marks a
historic milestone for the producer from the East Kazakhstan region. The
enterprise successfully adapted its production processes to comply with the EU’s
veterinary and sanitary standards. It will now begin exporting its products to
more than 25 European countries, ranging from Germany and France to Ireland,
Greece, and the Baltic states.
«This is the result of many years of systematic work by the Veterinary
Control and Supervision Committee under the Ministry of Agriculture. This work
has been underway for the past three years. In addition, the Committee and the
Ministry of Agriculture are working to increase the number of Kazakh companies
that can obtain approval to export products to the EU,» said Kyzgaldak
Zhubatkanova, Head of the Department at the Veterinary Control and Supervision
Committee.
Notably, Kazakhstan plans to produce up to 5,000 tonnes of
honey in 2025. The domestic product is distinguished by its natural and organic
qualities, which is a key selling point when entering new export markets.
